A friend of mine asked me for a trick to learn and specifically asked for a hook element, so I uploaded a very shoddy video a couple months ago and as his online persona is "beefswizzle" I called it "beefhook" jokingly. Since then I have received a lot of questions in PMs asking for help learning it despite never intending to actually make a tutorial. I don't have a better name for the trick, I don't know its origins at all but am confident it isn't original, but have fun learning it. It is a very useable combo element and I love throwing it into things for a little flashy flair.
Mr Larkins informed me it is a "Gunshot" concept, a trick genre by Adam Brewster. Neat!
Tips: Let go of the slack what feels like too late, exaggerate the motion, don't let the yoyo rotate around your finger and land in brother. If you need more slack rotation its increased in force by moving your hands apart slightly.
