Shanghai's Bund sees 20% tourist rise this summer, boosting businesses

At 7 p.m., crowds streamed from Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street toward the Bund, where tourists gathered to admire Lujiazui's iconic skyline. Police reported peak instantaneous visitor numbers nearing 40,000, with controlled measures in place.

Cultural tourism data shows Bund visitor totals this summer rose nearly 20% year-on-year, boosting surrounding businesses. While numbers may dip as schools reopen, Shanghai's tourism market is expected to rebound during the upcoming Mid-Autumn and National Day holidays.
