কক্সবাজার সদরের ভারুয়াখালীতে ট্রেনের ধাক্কায় শিশুসহ সিএনজি অটোরিকশার ৪ যাত্রী নিহত হয়েছে। দুপুরে, ইসলামাবাদ ও রশিদনগরের মাঝামাঝি এলাকায় এ দুর্ঘটনা হয়। কর্তৃপক্ষ জানায়, ভারুয়াখালীর এই লেভেলক্রসিংটিতে কোন গেইটম্যান বা রেল ক্রসিং গেট ছিলো না। সিএনজি অটোরিকশাটি রেল লাইন পার হওয়ার সময় ঢাকামুখী 'কক্সবাজার এক্সপ্রেস' ট্রেনটির সাথে ধাক্কা খায়। এতে দুমড়ে মুচড়ে যায় অটোরিকশাটি। প্রাণ হারান চারজন। তাদের পরিচয় শনাক্তের চেষ্টা চলছে। স্থানীয়রা, সহস্রাধিক যাত্রীসহ ট্রেনটিকে আটকে রেখেছে। মরদেহগুলো রেললাইন থেকে পুরোপুরি উদ্ধার না করা পর্যন্ত ট্রেনটি না ছাড়ার ঘোষণা দিয়েছেন তারা। ঘটনাস্থলে পৌঁছে পরিস্থিতি নিয়ন্ত্রণের চেষ্টা করছে পুলিশ।

Four passengers of a CNG autorickshaw, including a child, were killed when a train hit them in Baruakhali, Cox's Bazar Sadar. The accident occurred in the afternoon, between Islamabad and Rashidnagar. Authorities said there was no gateman or rail crossing gate at this level crossing in Baruakhali. The CNG autorickshaw collided with the Dhaka-bound 'Cox's Bazar Express' train while crossing the railway line. The autorickshaw twisted and turned. Four people lost their lives. Efforts are underway to identify them. Locals, along with thousands of passengers, have blocked the train. They have announced that they will not leave the train until the bodies are completely recovered from the railway line. Police have reached the spot and are trying to control the situation.
