Ifor James asked Peter Seivewright to write a piece for Besses and Piano.
The result was “Jazz Intermezzo” which was recorded by Peter with Besses in 1974.
Peter composed 'Jazz Intermezzo' in July 1973, in the few days preceding, during, and after his 19th birthday, (11 July 1973) .
The recording venue was Chorley Grammar School, that at the time,
was an annex of Lancaster University training college, and had a Grand Piano available.

Peter has given recitals and performed Piano Concertos with leading professional Orchestras in over 25 countries, performing in the best-known Concert Halls of all the countries he has visited.
Peters extensive CD catalogue includes recordings issued by NAXOS, Merlin Classics, Rondo Records (Copenhagen), & The Divine Art Recordings Group, for whom he now records exclusively.
In 2018 Peter was awarded the Distinguished Artist Citation by the S. S. Prokofiev State Academic Symphony Orchestra in Donetsk.
This is the highest award the Orchestra can bestow.
In 2018, Peters CD 'American Piano Sonatas’ (issued by The Divine Art Recordings Group in 2009), was awarded 4th place, with a Special Judges' Citation, in THE AMERICAN PRIZE.
From 2008-2011 Peter was the inaugural Professor of Music
(Full Professor) at the Academy for the Performing Arts at the
University of Trinidad and Tobago.

Peter lives near Glasgow, in Scotland.
