Summary:
Almost week five after my septoplasty and turbinate reduction, I’m sharing an honest, singer-focused recovery update on day 33 post‑op. In this video I walk through my second ENT follow‑up, what she found in each nostril (including a dry mucosa patch and lingering scabs), and why I’m now using petroleum jelly several times a day to protect my septum and prevent a septal perforation.
I also talk about how my breathing compares side to side, how much less tissue I’m going through, and why it feels like I’m only getting “half the air” on one side even though it looks clear. As a full‑time singer, I share where my vocal range is now, how my high notes and low notes are doing, why I still have a sore throat from rinses, and what my ENT recommended about stopping nasal rinses and switching to mist plus petroleum jelly.
Finally, I cover gigging stamina, singing up to four hours a day, and how long it took before exercise and my stress‑tracking app started to look “normal” again after surgery and two rounds of antibiotics for an infection. If you’re a singer (or just nervous about septoplasty recovery), I hope this gives you realistic expectations, reassurance, and some questions to ask your own ENT.
Good luck! Jocelyn
