We start our Great Ocean Road adventure driving from Colac to Bells Beach. As a keen surfer, I have always wanted to get a first-hand look at this iconic Australian surf break, and it was just a few days after the Bells Beach Classic. Unfortunately, my new knee had another opinion, but it looked far too cold for a bloke who normally surfs in the warmer waters of the Sunshine Coast.
It is a gorgeous drive with breathtaking views every few turns. At Apollo Bay, we just had to have a seafood platter at the Fish Co-op for lunch before heading to Otway Fly. Although a Zip line ride sounded exciting, we opted for a walk on their Tree Tops walkway that gets you high into the forest canopy.
