A trip across the Black Forest from Karlsruhe to Calw to Waldeck Castle.
Waldeck Castle Ruin is the ruin of a spur castle on a 410 m above sea level rocky spur above the Nagold Valley and the small village of Kohlerstal near the town of Calw in the district of Calw in Baden-Württemberg.
It is unclear when this castle was built. In 1140, an Ortwin von Waldeck is mentioned for the first time. The oldest preserved building remains do not date before 1200.

Die Burgruine Waldeck ist die Ruine einer Spornburg auf einem 410 m ü. NN hohen Felssporn über dem Nagoldtal und dem kleinen Ort Kohlerstal bei der Stadt Calw im Landkreis Calw in Baden-Württemberg.
Wann diese Burg errichtet wurde, ist unklar. 1140 wird erstmals ein Ortwin von Waldeck erwähnt. Die ältesten erhaltenen Baureste datieren nicht vor 1200.
