Senate county public accounts committee has taken issue with former Turkana county Governor Josephat Nanok's regime for running what the senators call a "criminal enterprise" to loot county funds. In the audit report of 2020/2021, Nanok's regime spent 4Million shillings a day on domestic travel. Governor Jeremiah Lomurukai admitted there were cartels deeply entrenched in the county government.
