Описание: READ ALONG TO PRACTICE YOUR ENGLISH AND LEARN THE MEANING OF HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY: So Happy Valentine's Day is the phrase that we say to the person who we love on Valentine's Day. And I'm talking about romantic love. So when I got up this morning, I said, "Happy Valentine's Day," to Jen. So this is a day where husbands and wives, boyfriends and girlfriends are all saying, "Happy Valentine's Day," to each other because it is February 14th and that is Valentine's Day. The typical thing that people do on Valentine's Day and something that Jen and I are doing later is that we will probably go out for a bite to eat. We'll probably go out to a restaurant and we'll just sit and we'll talk about our life together, and we will reminisce about all of the things that we've done in the past as a couple. When you reminisce, it means you talk about the past, usually in a good way. We'll probably talk about our kids and we'll just talk about all of the things we've done since we started dating and since we got married. So this morning I said, "Happy Valentine's Day," to Jen and I hope I can for many more years.

Typical gifts on Valentine's Day. That's something I should talk about. On Valentine's Day, the number one gift is usually red roses or another kind of flower. Another gift on Valentine's Day would be chocolate. That is a very popular gift as well. Jewelry goes a long way. When you say something goes a long way, you mean that it's something that people usually do or is something that is good or acceptable as a gift. so chocolate, flowers, jewelry. And of course, a card is always nice, a Valentine's Day card. And then usually, couples like Jen and I will go out to have a bite to eat. I'm not sure if you know that phrase either in English. But when you go out to have a bite to eat, it just means you're going out for dinner. It's nothing more than that. So anyways, Bob, the Canadian here. I hope you're spending your Valentine's Day with someone you love. And if you're not, I hope you find someone to love in the near future.
