You were also a wildcard. You’d been broken and betrayed too many times by all sides. You couldn’t do it anymore.
You lived your life like anyone else. Sometimes you broke the law with your powers. Sometimes for good reasons, sometimes for bad. You were still human. Being super didn’t take that away from you.
You allowed yourself to make mistakes. You let yourself fail.
You found yourself. And you loved what you found.
During your journey of self-discovery, you found out interesting things about the people you used to work with. Heroes and villains, you investigated them all.
What you found shattered your already broken worldview. But, in a way, it repaired it. It was like a bone that had been healed incorrectly. It had to break in order to be repaired.
You had plans. Or, more specifically, someone you knew had plans. After everything you learned, you wanted to do something to change how things are.
You were going to leave without a word. But you still had a few connections from the old world. So you posted your address.
If you had any unfinished business, it was up to them to resolve it.
And as you were expecting, someone came knocking at your door. But the conversation was far from what you expected.
