How to find the inverse of a function! In this precalculus tutorial, we will find the inverse of two rational functions, a square root function and also a cubic function. Be sure to follow the following 4 steps for finding the inverse of a function.
The 4 steps:
first 👉 we write f(x) as y,
second 👉 we switch x and y,
third 👉 we isolate this new y,
fourth 👉 this new y is the f^-1(x).
Remember f^-1(x) is NOT the same as 1/f(x). f^-1(x) is the notation for the inverse of f(x).
0:00 f(x)=1/(x-12)
1:58 f(x)=27x^3+1
3:26 f(x)=-2+sqrt(x+9)
6:07 f(x)=(x-2)/(x+4)
