Описание: EGON PETRI plays "Prelude and Fugue "St. Anne" E-Flat Major BWV552" by JOHANN SEBASTIAN BACH, transcribed for performance on the piano by FERRUCCIO BUSONI.
The prelude is a French overture with two fugal sections, making it one of the longest preludes Bach wrote (next to the Toccata F-Major BWV540). The fugue is almost a triple fugue and consists of three different subjects. Once the first fugue ("slow but majestic") is finished, a different fugue ("faster/lighter") starts and the first subject becomes a counter-subject at times. The third fugue ("fast") directly features the first subject as the final pedal entry in the original version for organ. All three subjects are said to likely represent the Holy Trinity, evidenced by the usage of the key E-Flat Major, which is indicated by three flats.

In Busoni's transcription, prelude and fugue are merged into one grand quasi single-movement piece without interruption. He also shortens the ending of the prelude by omitting the return to B-flat major and instead concludes the piece with just the second half of the recapitulation of the "dal segno al fine" finale of the prelude.
