According to an international study conducted in 2021, 80 percent of grade four pupils in South Africa are unable to read for comprehension.
In a significant step towards tackling the pressing literacy challenges, Tropic Plastics and Packaging generously donated three mobile libraries valued at just over R100, 000, to Wentworth Primary School.
The co-ordination of this impactful project was spearheaded by the Yusuf Karodia Foundation, and the handover coincided with National Book Week, which is commemorated annually from September 5 to 11.
