TMI PPT Tear Tester model 83-05-00 measures the ability of flexible sheet materials to resist puncture and propagation of that puncture. several carriages of different weights, each with a conical probe with a 1/64 flat outer mechanism tip and a test stand including: a carriage release mechanism, a scale calibrated in millimeters, a curved sample holder with a tear slot and mechanically activated clamps, a drop base with guide channels to accommodate the carriage bearing wheels and a spirit level to level the stand with leveling feet.
