Long shot of a mountainside in New Guinea. Various shots of the Australian soldiers in New Guinea advancing through the undergrowth. They stop at a camp for a break, they smoke and eat. Various shots of the soldiers going into action against a Japanese outpost. Rifles, machine guns and light artillery in action. Japanese dead bodies in dug out. Various shots of the Australian injured being carried back on rough stretchers. At difficult points native bearers help to carry the stretchers through the bushes and across streams. One injured soldier walks with the help of comrade through muddy jungle.
