গ্লোবাল ডিমান্ড, শক্তিশালী ট্যানারি শিল্প ও নতুন উদ্যোক্তাদের ইনোভেশনের ফলে বাংলাদেশের লেদার ও ফুটওয়্যার খাত দ্রুত এগোচ্ছে। এটি এখন রেডিমেড গার্মেন্টসের পর দ্বিতীয় বৃহত্তম রপ্তানি খাত। ২০২৪ সালে যে খাতটি থেকে আয় হয়েছে ১.৫ বিলিয়ন ডলার, যা আগের বছরের চেয়ে ৪৫% বেশি। সরকার আগামী পাঁচ বছরে লেদার ও ফুটওয়্যার খাত থেকে ৫ বিলিয়ন ডলার রপ্তানির লক্ষ্য নির্ধারণ করেছে।
