Every year off the coast of Vancouver Island, hundreds of Bald Eagles gather for one of the most incredible wildlife spectacles in North America.
When powerful tidal currents push migrating fish toward the surface, the sky explodes with eagles. They dive, compete, and hunt in a breathtaking display of wild nature creating a powerful feeding frenzy.
This happens every year during May - Early July near the Jimmy Judd Island.
At first, everything seems calm with hundreds of Eagles perched quietly in the trees, watching and waiting.
Then suddenly, as if a light switch has been turned on the Eagles take to the sky. Hundreds of eagles around you. All diving, grabbing, fighting for whatever fish they can get their razor sharp talons on.
What begins as a peaceful moment, suddenly transforms into one of the most breathtaking wildlife spectacles on the Pacific coast. A phenomenal feeding frenzy, all because of the migrating Pacific Hake, combined with powerful tidal currents.
This is not random chaos.
It’s a perfectly timed natural system where tides, fish, and predators align in a moment of raw wilderness. Every eagle knows the opportunity may only last minutes, and when the moment arrives, the entire sky comes alive.
Whether you are a photographer, a birder, or simply a nature lover who adores the natural world, witnessing this event in person is truly unforgettable.
This is what wild looks like. Raw and unscripted.
