Every year, when I fly back home to be with my family, I sit down to create Pisanki —intricately decorated Easter eggs, dyed with natural onion skins and scratched with unique patterns OR Wydmuszki - painted egg shells that you may keep forever. It’s one of those traditions that feels timeless, passed down through generations.
It makes my creativity flow, it's my favorite holiday and a way to relax.
In this video, I’m showing you how we paint egg shells with hot wax or etch designs using the scratch technique—a method that’s simple but turns out surprisingly beautiful. And because no Polish Easter is complete without it, I’ll also share the egg-cracking battle tradition (spoiler: there’s always one undefeated champion).
