STORYLINE:
BARBRA STREISAND TURNS 80 ON SUNDAY
American singer, actress, and filmmaker Barbra Streisand will turn 80 on Sunday (24 APRIL 2022).
Born in Brooklyn, New York City, Streisand started sing in various nightclubs around the city.
Her first television appearance was on 'The Tonight Show' during an April 1961 episode with the usual host Jack Paar.
In 1963, Streisand released her first album, 'The Barbra Streisand Album,' which reached the top 10 on the Billboard chart and won three Grammy Awards.
Streisand also won the 1968 Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in "Funny Girl.'
The revival of  the "Funny Girl" musical coincidentally opens on Broadway Sunday night, starring Beanie Feldstein. .
Performing for over six decades, Streisand is among the few performers awarded an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony (EGOT).
