Angelina Craig-Flórez, a Senior Lecturer in the department of Latin American and Iberian Cultures (LAIC) at Columbia University, worked with the Columbia Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) to redesign her course Spanish Intermediate II. In the redesign, Professor Craig-Flórez substituted a commonly used textbook with a new website of authentic materials including news articles, podcasts, films, literary pieces and documentaries to enhance student learning.
In this video and interview we hear from Craig-Flórez on the reasoning behind the course redesign, her experience working with the CTL, and her students’ experiences in the course.
