Career
Producer Ernesto Alonso saw his potential and gave him his first role in the soap opera Quiéreme siempre. Yáñez played the role of "Carlos" alongside the actress Victoria Ruffo.

Yáñez married his first wife, Norma Adriana Garcia, in 1987. They had a son named Eduardo Yáñez Jr. They were divorced three years later.

In 1991, Yáñez moved to the United States where he worked on two soap operas for Capital Vision, Marielena and Guadalupe.

Later he worked in Hollywood, on movies such as Striptease, Wild Things, and Megiddo. His most recent American movie was The Punisher. He has also worked in television series such as Savannah and Soldier of Fortune. He also worked in Sleeper Cell and Cold Case.

In 1996, Yáñez married Francesca Cruz, a Cuban-American he met in Miami. They lived in Los Angeles and Miami. In January 2003 they filed for divorce.

In 2005, after a long absence, Yáñez returned to Mexico and appeared in the soap opera La Verdad Oculta.

In 2007, he starred in Destilando Amor, "La Mejor Telenovela del Año", "Best Telenovela of the Year" (Premios TVyNovelas 2008). He played Rodrigo Montalvo Santos and Angélica Rivera played his love interest and portraited Teresa Hernández, also known as "La Gaviota" and Mariana Franco.

Biography
Montero was born in Santo Suarez, Cuba. At the age of 16, she placed her acting career on hold to get married, and gave birth to two daughters, Martha and Elaine. Her life in Cuba was very difficult, and the lack of liberty led to her decision to leave Cuba.

Guadalupe is a Spanish-language telenovela produced by the United States-based television network, Telemundo, in conjunction with Capitalvision International Corp. and Televisión Española (TVE), from 1993, starring Adela Noriega, Eduardo Yáñez and Zully Montero.

Summary
Ezequiel Zambrano is a powerful businessman from Miami who has a love affair with his maid and leaves her pregnant. In fear that her boss is going to force her to do an abortion, she runs away and when her child is born she names her Guadalupe. Guadalupe's mother dies when giving birth and the child is raised by another family, without knowing who her real father is. Guadalupe grows up into a beautiful young lady of good sentiments and high hopes: to find her real family and the man of her dreams.

The family of Alfredo, the Mendoza's, was killed when he was a little boy. Only his aunt Olivia and him survived the massacre. When they discover that the murders were ordered by the Zambrano family with the purpose of getting a hold of their family's fortune, they make an oath to destroy all the members of the Zambrano family. Twenty years later, Alfredo now a successful lawyer, under a false identity, manages to become the assistant of the cold and ambitious Luisa Zambrano, sister of Ezequiel Zambrano. Luisa is the person that actually ordered the murders of the family Mendoza and of her own brother, Ezequiel.
