The garden is really starting to wake up, and this week has been a whirlwind of activity—from the satisfying first mow of the year to some unexpected quiet moments indoors.

The Engine of the Garden: Opening up the Hotbin for the first emptying of 2026. It was a little colder than I’d like, but seeing the "cleanup crew" of insects and larvae at work was fascinating.

Rocket Fuel: I’m using the first grass clippings of the year to kickstart the Hotbin temperature.
