How to Dry Roses

Today I’m drying a rose from an event. Drying flowers from a bouquet is a great way to preserve the memory of a special day. There are many different ways to preserve flowers. The preservation method I will be using today is one of the most basic, super simple methods for drying roses that you can do.

Really, there isn’t even any equipment necessary to dry flowers, even big ones like roses. Rather, the trick is in the technique. You want to dry your flowers upside down, in a cool, low-humidity place, out of direct sunlight.

To do this, I chose to clip the bottom of my rose stem into a magnetic refrigerator magnet and leave it hanging on my refrigerator for a week. You could also tie a string and hang it upside down. Basically any method will work, as long as nothing is smashing the petals and it has plenty of dry air around it to dry out in.

The method of drying one flower at a time is great for roses, which are large flowers with a lot of moisture in them. For smaller, less moist flowers such as lavender, large bunches can be dried at once using the same method.

You’ll need to let your flower dry for at least a full week, but letting it go for two is even better, just to be sure.

The results are beautiful, colorful, dried flowers and a great way to preserve a bouquet. I hope this video was helpful for anyone looking for a way to keep their roses.
