Part 1: Two Welsford Navigators from the Old Gaffers Association of Western Australia sail to Geordie Bay on Rottnest Island, Western Australia in February 2014. A round trip of nearly 60km. We set out from the East Fremantle boat ramp at around 7am and arrived at
Geordie Bay for lunch. The crossing was done in a light southerly wind and, as seen in the video, every power boat going to Rottnest that day came past for a closer look...Part 2: Back into the boats and head for home. The "Freo Doctor" is in by now so we get a wonderful ride back to Fremantle on a stiff south westerly sea breeze. The wind and waves kept the power boats away so we had the ocean to ourselves. We enjoyed champagne sailing surfing the swell and watching flying fish skimming away from our bows. After a total of 57km on the GPS track we were back at the ramp by 6pm.

The Navigators performed superbly, handling the conditions with total ease.
One of the photos from the trip made its way onto the cover of Small Craft Advisor Magazine.
