Ultra-Luxury and All-Inclusive, Seabourn Cruises has been a favorite for nearly forty years now.

They have only six ships in their fleet, and today we’ll tour Seabourn’s two largest vessels, Ovation and Encore.

Seabourn Encore and Seabourn Ovation are very similar, but not entirely identical. They are sister ships, meaning they share the same basic design and layout and were constructed at about the same time, less than ten years ago.

There are ten decks that are available to passengers and we’ll start at the very top. Deck 12. Let’s do it!

There are two areas of interest forward on deck 12: The Sun Terrace and The Retreat.

The Retreat is a private, pay-to-play area on only Seabourn Ovation and Seabourn Encore.

Cabana rates start at approximately $249 for a full sea-day, $149 for a port or embarkation day, and $129 for a half-day (morning or afternoon).

If you walk behind the cabanas and go all the way to the back of deck 12, you’ll find the Sun Terrace which has some lounge chairs, but not much else.

I shot this video while we were docked just outside Porto in Portugal.

Welcome to the Observation Lounge, our favorite place for a pre-dinner cocktail and a great place to sit when the ship is leaving a port.

These suites to the left here are Penthouse Spa suites. There are only five of these suites and they sit just above the fitness center and spa.

Ooo! There’s the gelato cart!

The Patio restaurant serves a breakfast and lunch buffet with some à la carte options available. In the evening, the buffet is closed and this space changes names and becomes “Earth & Ocean”, a very good table-service dining option.

This spot has just thirty seats and—-at the busiest times—- you may need to wait for a table (Remember: Seabourn features reservation-free dining with —-one exception—- and we’ll get to that on deck 8).

Solis is the only restaurant on Seabourn where you’ll need a reservation, but there is no up-charge, which is nice…

And, if you climb these stairs, you’ll end up at the Colonnade again—-right by the gelato cart!

The Restaurant is a lovely space with fantastic food.

And, let’s hope you don’t need to visit this space. It’s forward on deck 4.

And, finally, the only thing on deck three is the Marina, a unique, retractable platform where guests may enjoy a wide array of watersports, including kayaks, pedal boats, donut rides, banana boats, paddleboards and waterskiing.
