5 Defects Of The FX3

1. This seems to be a common issue with people who have this camera. The screen becomes a little wobbly which causes a lot of stability issues when operating camera on a gimbal. Both between the monitor causing unwanted movement in the gimbal, and between trying to stabilize your shot by looking at a moving monitor.

2. I said it was a glitch in the video, but it's not a glitch, just an unwelcome change that came with the new update. The display now combines the readings of both cards instead of showing two separate readings as it did before. I know you can view the separate readings in the MyMenu, but I do not have access to this while I'm shooting. An example of when I would need this is when I am shooting footage onto someone else's card and I need to know when to grab another card from my client prior to the footage rolling over to my backup card. The other thing I noticed is, there is no counter on the screen that shows how long you've been recording, it only shows the total amount recorded from all the clips currently on the card. There has been so many times where I'm filming a video for a client and the client asks, "how long was that take?" Unless I memorized the total count prior to hitting record (which I never do), I can't answer that question which to my client, seems like a really simple question.answer.

3. There is no battery life reading when recording with third-party batteries. Prior to the update, I was using third-party batteries with zero issues. I totally understand how Sony deems how third-party batteries can be unsafe, but so can third-party lenses and many other accessories. It's one thing for the third-party manufacturer to make a product that is not properly compatible, it's another for Sony to actually restrict practical use of it.

4. ND Filters. I know this is not a defect, just something I really feel like this camera should have.

5. This may not be as common for everyone, depending on how you put gear in your bag/case, but there have been far too many times where I have placed the FX3 in my bag with the power switch off. Only to get to my event and find my camera has been running with a fever the whole time. This was never a problem for me with the A73, A74, or A6600 cameras.
