Printed consent form for surgery: unfair, says National Commission: Supreme court grants stay

Описание: Supreme Court finally has stayed today i.e. 18-11-2020 the recent controversial National Commission order holding use of pre-printed consent form for surgery to be an unfair trade practice further its direction to discontinue uniform pre-printed consent form forthwith and imposition of cost of Rs.10 Lakhs on this account. The National Commission had passed such controversial order dated 6-7-2020 in Consumer Case No 428 of 2018 VINOD KHANNA vs RG STONE UROLOGY AND LAPAROSCOPY HOSPITAL & Ors

The impugned order of National Commission have had wider ramifications considering that the several hospitals follow the pre-printed and fix informed consent come undertaking form for carrying out any procedure and this is the standard practice throughout the world.
