The Bosnian government has captured 15 square kilometres of territory from Bosnian Serb forces in northern Bosnia.

Fierce battles raged between the two sides for control of the strategically important Posavina corridor.

Bosnian Government army forces have captured 15 square kilometres of ground in the strategically important Posavina corridor in northern Bosnia.

The Bosnian army fired dozens of artillery shells at Bosnian Serb positions in thick woods throughout the corridor.

Posavina corridor is only a few kilometres wide at its most narrow point and is the only supply line for Bosnian Serbs in the north of the country.

The corridor connects the Serb forces to the rump Yugoslavia.

A lack of military supplies to the north has forced the Bosnian army to improvise with their weaponry.

Heavy fighting has raged around the corridor as Bosnian government forces and Croat forces try to disrupt the Serb supply lines.
