"Cavalo Crioulo" is a Brazilian horse breed. Originating from animals of Andalusian and Berber blood, introduced to the American continent by the Spanish adventurer Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca in the first years after the discovery of Brazil, and also by the Jesuit priests Cristóvão de Mendonça and Pedro Romero, in locations that are now Rio Grande of the South in 1634.
