Saratoga Honors Sly the Horse and His First Responder Heroes

Today we recognized the heroic efforts of the first responders who saved “Sly,” a 22-year-old horse who fell through the ice in Saratoga Springs this past February. Special recognition was given to three members of the Saratoga Springs Police Department and others who played a key role in the rescue.
Thanks to their bravery, Sly made a full recovery and now serves as a proud member of the Saratoga Springs Mounted Police. Fans had the chance to meet Sly and take photos with him from 2-4pm as part of today’s First Responders Day presented by Albany Med at Saratoga Race Course.
