🦋 Butterfly Baklava | Crispy, Juicy & Chocolate Coated 🍫
This Butterfly Baklava is one of those desserts that looks fancy but is actually very easy to make. It’s crispy, lightly soaked in sugar syrup, dipped in chocolate, and coated with crunchy almonds—every bite is pure happiness!
Perfect for festivals, special occasions, or when you just want to make something different at home 🤍
Ingredients (8–10 pieces):
• Phyllo pastry sheets – 6
• Ghee or butter – for frying
• Chopped almonds – ½ cup
• Chocolate (dark or milk) – ½ cup, melted
Sugar Syrup:
• Sugar – 1 cup
• Water – ½ cup
• Lemon juice – 1 tsp
How I Made It:
First, prepare the sugar syrup by boiling sugar and water until slightly sticky. Add lemon juice, turn off the flame, and let it cool completely.
Take the phyllo pastry sheets and cut them into strips. Fold each strip into a butterfly shape (just like shown in the video) and insert a toothpick in the center to lock the shape.
Heat ghee on medium flame and fry the baklava until it turns golden and crispy. Don’t rush this step—medium heat gives the best texture.
While still hot, dip the baklava into the cooled sugar syrup for about 1 minute. Take it out and let the excess syrup drip off.
Once it cools slightly, dip one side into melted chocolate and then immediately coat it with chopped almonds. Let it set—and it’s ready to serve!
Small Tips:
• Hot baklava + cool syrup = perfect soak
• Don’t over-soak, or it will turn soggy
• You can use pistachios instead of almonds
