This video discusses many aspects of the Guru’s power and its transmission, but its main focus is Ramana Maharshi and the multiple occasions when he transmitted the power of the Self through touching devotees on the heart centre on the right side of the chest. It also addresses other questions such as the source and origin of the power, why some jnanis have it while others don’t, and whether the flow is consciously regulated. I have added commentary and narratives from the lives of Ramana Maharshi’s devotees Lakshmana Swamy and Papaji. The principal texts I read excerpts from are here:
At the feet of Bhagavan by T. K. Sundaresa Iyer. https://bookstore.gururamana.org/
This contains the story of Bhagavan’s walk to the Samudram lake.
Nothing Ever Happened, volume three. https://www.davidgodman.org/book/noth...
The quotes by Papaji I read out all come from this book.
No Mind – I am the Self. https://www.davidgodman.org/book/no-m...
This is the source of the stories on Lakshmana Swamy and Saradamma.
Living by the Words of Bhagavan. https://www.davidgodman.org/book/livi...
