Описание: Abraham Lake, located in Alberta's David Thompson Country, is world-renowned for the frozen methane bubbles that appear under its surface every winter. The bubbles are composed of methane gas released by decaying organic matter such as plants, roots, trees on the lakebed. As the gas rises, it gets trapped in the freezing water. Because Abraham Lake is an artificial reservoir, it has a high concentration of organic material, leading to millions if stacked, white "pancake" bubbles frozen in layers of crystal-clear ice.
