Every year at the Fuji Shibazakura Festival, a beautiful pink carpet of flowers rolls out beneath Japan’s tallest mountain, Mt. Fuji.
There are eight different types of “Shibazakura” (or “Moss Phlox” in English) that can be viewed at the festival: McDaniels Cushion, Mont-blanc, Autumn Rose, Tamano-nagare, Oakington Blue-eye, Giant Rose, Scarlet Frame, and Little Dot. The flowers are showcased in various creative designs and patterns. Prepare to be surrounded by colorful carpets of pinks, blues, whites, and purples—and oh! Did I mention there is an adorable mini-Fuji as well?
In addition to the Shibazakura, you can also see other flowers as well, such as cherry blossoms, poppy anemone, and many more. As you can probably imagine, a visit to the festival is an Instagrammer’s dream come true.
