Much awaited by kids and kids at heart, the Kaohsiung Winter Wonderland is coming back once again in time for the Lunar New Year. The fairground is set to open its doors on Feb. 7 at Piers 16 to 18 on Kaohsiung harbor. This year, there will be 22 amusement rides to enjoy, and best of all, they are all free. The event will also have a special appearance by none other than Japan’s famous hero Ultraman. The event is offering fun options for all ages, for a family outing that everyone can enjoy. It took a total of six months to complete this attraction from design to production. When the lights turn on at night, the whole area really comes alive.

Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai was present at the promotional event on Friday. He even joined local kids for a ride on the newly built dinosaur carousel, showing just how much fun kids and adults can both have. Besides endless rides for free and the presence of Ultraman, the event will also have plenty of food options across dozens of stands, and performances and exhibits for the whole family to enjoy together. Kaohsiung officials say the event is just the perfect way to spend some time with loved ones this winter and start off the Year of the Horse with a smile.
