Free Fire and Water Paul Kossoff Guitar Solo with TAB

Описание: Free is one of the greatest Rock bands of all time. Unfortunately they are only really known by the general public for their hit song All Right Now.
The band would also have a very short lived career with only 5 albums that sadly ended with the death of their extraordinary guitarist Paul Kossoff.
Half the band would quickly regroup and form the very successful 70’s super group Bad Company. Bad Company would have a long and fruitful career throughout the 70’s and 80’s. Paul Rogers has one of the greatest reputations in the Rock n Roll world as being the greatest singer of all time. Paul Kossoff however Is only really known among deep guitar enthusiasts.

My personal favourite Free album is their debut self titled album, but Fire and Water is undoubtedly the most important album for free that broke them into the mainstream.
Fire and Water is a great description for the band since they have two very distinct sides to them. They have very soft and soulful ballads and proto AC/DC style minimalist rockers, usually spread across each album in a 50/50 split. This may be one reason that they are a little difficult to define by only listening to one or two songs, you really need to listen to
a full album to really understand what they are trying to say.

The guitar solo for Fire and Water sums up Paul’s guitar style perfectly, minimal and dynamic. I love the space that the band achieves on this track. Unlike bands like Cream and The Who, the band never be accused of overplaying anything. The music has the analogy of a family packing their carry on luggage for a plane flight or going on a camping trip…only bring the essentials. Free really seems to take this reduction of production seriously, and it sounds fantastic. Listen to more Free and spread the word about Paul Kossoff’s legendary guitar playing.
