In our exclusive video, Barry Weller, Mitsubishi Electric Product Manager demonstrates a Mitsubishi Safe Industrial Robot Application that is protected by a Sick Laser Scanner.
Instead of being protected by a fixed guard, the Sick Laser Scanner allows you to interact with the robot rather than hiding behind a barrier. Once the safety area has been entered, the speed of the robot slows down, enabling you to be around the robot safely. Infringing the protective field safely stops the robot, allowing you to load and unload components from the machine safely without collision. After leaving the safety area, the robot automatically restarts, enabling it to go back to a full production cycle speed.
