SAM LABS First Look - Door Bell, Robot Detector, Music Box

Here we have a look at some new kit from SAM LABS*, build a multi output door bell, a music box, and a robot detector. This is a really clever system which allows regular people to design and build electronic and mechatronic projects and prototypes. Whether it be a bit of fun with the family or as a teaching tool within schools and educational institutions, SAM LABS is very easy to use and versatile.

All the creativity is based around the SAM LABS modules, each one performs a specific function, for example the button module is a button, the Light sensor module senses light levels, the Servo module controls a server, etc. The modules talk to the SAM LABS App, which runs on Windows and OSX, using Bluetooth. Once a module is paired with the App it can then become part of a project by simply dragging and dropping it into the workspace and ‘virtually’ connecting it to other blocks.

In this video we have a look at several input and output modules. This is the first of a few videos we will be doing with the SAM LABS kit so we’re just getting started.
