You can visit a Maine Lighthouse when ever you want...but on Maine Lighthouse Weekend they open up these beautiful pieces of history for you to get an intimate look at the inner workings. We visited Owls Head Lighthouse and Marshall Point Lighthouse close to the Rockport area of Mid Coast Maine. We finished up our weekend with a unique store in Thomaston. The Maine State Prison Showroom sells handmade furniture, crafts and art made by the prisoners. The proceeds help not only the prisoners but the funding of prison programs. This was a memorable weekend we won't forget.
