Here is Cory Wong's soundcheck at the Newport Jazz Festival this past weekend on 7/30/2022 on the FORT Stage in Newport Rhode Island!
I decided to record the soundcheck and setup because as much as I love listening to the band play their set, it's interesting to see how the band works with the monitor sound engineer as well as FOH
Cory then went on, ft Mark Lettieri for a song at one point. And a couple of gentlemen from the crowd, I think their names were Joe Dart and Jack Stratton, came on stage to play this one song Dean Town.
Esperanza Spalding then came on, an amazing performance as well. I had no idea I would enjoy her as much as I did.
Finally it was time for the Fearless Flyers, Cory's other band, which of course played amazing once again. And for the first time, at least with my times going to the Newport Jazz Festival, they actually gave the crowd an encore, which was of course the song: Speed Walker.
