1) Can foreigners ride motorcycles in China? Now you can, but you need to apply for a Chinese temporary license with a 3 month period and officially you can only rent motorcycles.
2) Can foreigners freely travel in China? Only Tibet restricts travel. You must either have a very expensive guide if you’re riding or driving, or you cop out and go with a package trip so you’re all herded from one place to the next.
3) Will police stop me on an electric scooter? No, unless you are showing complete disregard for the law. And I electric scooter regularly, frequently disregarding the rules. But I do get busted from time to time.
4) How hard is the China driving Test? It’s incredibly easy, in fact you can take the motorcycle test on a 3 wheeler. However, you will have to get 90$ plus on the written test. And this can be quite difficult.
5) Are motorcycles common in China? Not really, so there is a great and friendly group of people. If you’re riding and see a motorcycle coming towards you, give them a wave. They nearly always wave back.
6) Is riding motorcycles in China safe? Absolutely not. You need to be alert ahead, behind and at the sides at all times. Read the road ahead.
