Detailed Recipe:
Ingredients:
Sardine fish - 1kg
Grated coconut - 2cups
Byadgi chillies - 6
Ramnad chillies - 20 to 25
Tamarind - Lemon sized
Sichuan pepper - 10 to 12
Oil - 4tbsp
Salt as per taste
If using mixer:
Grind coconut, chillies and tamarind into coarse powder without adding any water and then add water and grind into a fine masala.
If using Wet Grinder:
Grind coconut, chillies and tamarind into coarse powder without adding any water and then add little water and grind into coarse masala.
Next tranafer the masala to grinder and grind until it turns out into very fine masala.
When masala is 85% done, add sichuan pepper, rock salt and grind for 2 mins.
Transfer the masala into a vessel and adjust the consistency.
Once the masala starts to boil, add fish and cook in low flame for 5mins.
At last add 4tbsp coconut oil.
Pedwe gashi is ready to be served.
