Cannabis cannot be used responsibly unless patients and consumers are educated. Children must be protected, and impaired drivers kept off the road. Speakers will cover essential facts for safe consumption and the industry's role in providing resources for more informed decision-making. And with the growth of the Texas Compassionate Use Program, doctors prescribing cannabis have a significant responsibility to educate patients on safe consumption practices.

Learn how both consumers and the industry can work together to promote safe and informed use of cannabis products. Speakers: Christine Adams, Liz Cross, Aaron Bloom, and Lindy McGee, MD.

Speakers:

Dr. McGee, assistant professor at Baylor College of Medicine, is an E-cigarette champion for the American Academy of Pediatrics and chair of the Child and Adolescent Health Committee for Texas Medical Association.

Liz Cross has been a pediatric neurology nurse practitioner at CNCA in Austin for 13 years. In 2020, she launched Central Texas's first CBD resource clinic for pediatric patients. Liz holds a medical cannabis degree from the University of Maryland.

Aaron Bloom oversees the mission & growth of DocMJ. DocMJ, founded in 2016, has over 60 licensed providers nationwide and has seen more than 400,000 cannabis visits. Our Texas-based providers now help Texans find better health with cannabis.

Christine Adams employs evidence-based, harm reduction strategies to improve outcomes related to impaired driving and youth substance use. She advocates for sound policy to promote responsible, regulated industries, that value public safety.
