A short glimpse of my Wood burned original drawing “Batty” - featuring flying bats which play an important part in our ecosystem; from pollinating plants to consuming bugs.
After the pencil sketch, I wood burn the bold lines & also add shading. Then, I use a white colored pencil, watercolor paint, & watercolor colored pencils, layering to build & blend color.
Ahead of time, I didn’t really have a plan for color, except for inspiration from the flowers - the Primrose would be yellow, white moon flowers, a blue tinted green agave plant, etc.
