Описание: Taking in over 20 loads of Urea fertilizer (46-0-0) on september 1st and 2nd of 2020 to be applied in the spring of 2021. Semi trucks unloading into our 10" auger to fill our hopper bottom epoxy coated silos.

Tricks we use to prevent losses, lumps etc. We put cat litter in the bottom of the bin, and cap the bulk material with phosphate (MAP or S15) and it handles moisture better then nitrogen fertilizer.

we had a some time between harvest to get this out of the way.


it took 25-30 minutes per truck to unload. had 6 trucks on the yard at one point so we were pretty busy.

Long term fertilizer storage of 46-0-0 not to be confused with NH4NO3 which is ammonium nitrate. I don't think we can get this in canada anymore although it is great fertilizer, in the wrong hands it can be dangerous. Just look at the Beirut explosion that occurred in the port on august 4th of 2020 where 6500 people were injured. 2750 tonnes of the stuff went up and there is some astounding video out there.

HI everyone, Al here. It's september 2, 2020 and it's our second day of unloading urea fertilizer for the spring of 2021. So we're running our trusty 1135 Massey Fergussen tractor and our 10" grain auger with hydraulic swing tub. We are now inside the one bin and unloading a bunch of cat litter to keep the moisture from coming up. In the last 2 days, we've unloaded about 550 tonnes of urea here. And the once the bin is full, we cap it with some phosphate fertilizer or S15 and it stops the moisture from coming in at the top. We will be unloading some S15 in the near future.
