Phil Hurley and Chris Beall of The South Austin Moonlighters play and showcase a first-year, 1953 Gretsch Duo Jet with original DeArmond Dynasonic pickups and compare it to a custom-made Banning Ladybird with TV Jones T-Armond pickups.
They both play through custom Category 5 amps.
Toward the end of the video Chris plays the same thing on both guitars—back-to-back—on the bridge pickups (5:56), middle position (6:29) and neck pickups (6:50).
