Uttar Pradesh is conducting a statewide blackout mock drill across all 75 districts on January 23 to test security and emergency preparedness. The drill will take place from 6:00 PM to 6:10 PM, during which sirens will sound and electricity supply will be temporarily switched off, including in Lucknow. The exercise aims to prepare for emergency situations such as air attacks or war-like scenarios. Civil Defence, Police, SDRF, NDRF, Fire Brigade, and Health Department teams are participating. Authorities have clarified that this is only a mock drill and there is no real emergency. Citizens have been urged to cooperate and follow safety instructions calmly.
