In this video, I take a look at an older spinning wheel—well over 100 years old—and start working through a few small issues to get it spinning properly again. The wheel is in surprisingly good condition for its age, but today the focus is on the flyer and bobbin.
I walk through inspecting the flyer, bobbin, and whorl, pointing out what’s in good shape, what needs attention, and what can be left alone for now. This is a practical, hands-on look at evaluating an older spinning wheel before making adjustments or repairs.
