The game uses what is called a "Chibi" style of graphics for the characters. Another game that also uses this same art style is "Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix". I actually like the look of Chibi, it's cool and cute, right?

~ Notes ~
Really cool game and has great music. The music makes you feel like you're playing a Mega Man game; it's made by Capcom after all.

It's worth mentioning a little about the "Special Move". Each character has one, and it's performed the same way. Press the attack button, then press forward. However, you only get access to it once you hit level 4. The move doesn't use HP to activate, but it's kind of weak; at least it felt that way for Cody.

Unfortunately, the game is single-player only; it would be really fun with a friend. I wish that "Double Dragon 1" on the "NES" felt this smooth to play. You can find .PDF files of the manual online to learn the controls.
