Hudson Bay is one of the few places in the polar bears’ range where the ice melts completely each year. This forces the bears in the area to come ashore during the summer months. The bears hole up in earthen dens as they rest for the next several months. This was taken in October 2024 - the bears are waiting for Hudson Bay to freeze so they can hunt.
